Knoll Systems began operations in January 1985 as a wholly owned subsidiary of Pacific Sound & Signal Inc. in Vanouver Canada. It was originally founded to manufacture key components of professional sound and video systems and install them.
Many high profile Custom installation and home theatre systems installations necessitated the design of products not available at the time. Many of these products are available now under the Knoll brand name.

Digital Music System
DMS is a new generation of very easy to use, simple and affordable keypads that control music.
One touch of the MR6 keypad chooses and activates a stereo source then sets the volume at the programmed level in that room only.
Users in other rooms can select a different source or access the one already playing at their own volume setting.
With the addition of MR4 keypads any number of extra functions to control the source components can be added in one or all keypad locations. The MR600 controller can accept as many as six MR6 keypads.
An unlimited number of MR600's can be ganged together in larger rooms (in multiple MR600 installations we recommend source components with individual infrared power on and power off commands).
The optional MR125 is a 600 watt 12 channel amplifier to power up to six rooms in stereo at 50 watts per channel.
Amplifiers for rooms requiring more power can easily be connected to the MR600 controller. DMS options include keypad infrared receivers and an infrared macro sequencer.

Infrared Repeater Products
Infrared repeater systems "relay" infrared signals broadcast in remote areas to electronic components that respond to these infrared commands. Most IR commands originate from hand held remote controls. Knoll IR repeater systems relay these commands to the distant component.
In line with Knoll's commitment to offer high performance, Flexible and easy to install products, Knoll infrared repeater systems offer almost unlimited system system control from any room to any audio/video component, throughout even the most sophisticated installation. IR signals can be "piggy-backed" on existing cable TV wires too.
Installation is simple, cost effective and reliable. The cutting edge styling of Knoll IR receivers and emitters, available in many colors and styles, compliment even the most elegant of installations.

THE OMEGA SERIES
The first and most important criterion for sonic realism is accurate tonal balance. Loudspeakers radiate sound in all directions. The sound arrives at the ear both directly and indirectly. Most quality loudspeakers are designed so that the sound radiated directly forward, accurately represents the electrical signal being fed to them by the amplifier. This characteristic is known as flat on-axis frequency response. It is important that this signal be flat because it reaches the listener first, directly, and with the most intensity.
Sound radiating at other angles from the loudspeaker (indirect sound) also reaches the listener as it is reflected from the room boundaries (floors, walls, ceilings) as well as other objects in the room. The sum total of this information becomes the reverberant sound field. It is critical that this sound field also be flat.
A loudspeaker with the ability to produce a flat reverberant sound field is said to have a flat mid-band power response.Measurement of a loudspeaker's power response is time-consuming, as hundreds of measurements must be made and averaged. Most loudspeaker companies ignore this absolutely critical aspect of loudspeaker design. It is the combination of the on-axis frequency response and power response that gives a loudspeaker its tonal balance.
